We explain why this Nobel Prize in Chemistry considers vitamin C to be a great ally in the fight against cancer.

One of the most recognized and charismatic scientists during the twentieth century, Linus Carl Pauling, decided to devote his last years of life to investigate the various effects that vitamin C had on various diseases, cancer being one of these.

A few years before his death, this popular scientist, who was Nobel Prize in Chemistry and Peace, said that “vitamin C was a weapon to fight cancer” since when used in high doses it would reduce mortality by 75%.

American scientist Linus Carl Pauling, who was invited to take part in the third international symposium on vitamin C, which took place in Brazil and exactly in the city of Sao Paulo, pointed out his skepticism about being able to obtain a single treatment for the different types of cancer.

In addition, he highlighted that after his research on the effects of vitamin C in the human organism, he defended the use of this substance.

He explained that he supported its use not only to prevent the development of this disease but also for its application in people who suffer from cancer because he said, it helps them increase their level of survival.

You can see below, this interesting video of Linus Carl Pauling, in which the scientist talks about the “recommended doses” of vitamins (mainly Vitamin C), compared to the “doses that could make us healthier”.

Vitamin C promotes the Immune System

Pauling indicated that it was already scientifically proven that vitamin C helps the proper functioning of the immune system through the formation of antibodies, which are responsible for combating foreign elements in the body while stimulating the formation of lymphocytes, and increases protein production.

Vitamin C also has the ability to increase the production of “interferon“, a cellular substance discovered in the 1950s. It transmits biochemical information to other cells which, once covered by this substance, cannot become infected with other viruses and cannot even develop cancer.

Considering the beneficial and proven effects that vitamin C has on the body, Linus Carl Pauling said before his death that he was surprised by the fact that the U.S. institutions responsible for preventing cancer, were investing about 10 million dollars in studies for the development of “interferon”, and that they did not carry out projects or invest resources in studies related to vitamin C.

Vitamin C Offers More Affordable Treatment

He also commented that the most absurd thing of all was that an “interferon” treatment for a cancer patient cost approximately $50,000, while using vitamin C, that same treatment would cost $50.

Similarly, Pauling observed that most middle-class people were unaware of the need for the human body to obtain vitamins, since like some other primates, humans do not have the ability to synthesize it naturally.

Endovenous Obtaining of Vitamin C to Face Cancer

However, many wonder how large doses of intravenous vitamin C work within tumor processes and/or cancer.

That is why there are treatments that involve obtaining high doses of vitamin C intravenously, allowing the destruction of cancer cells and without causing any harmful effect on other cells present in the body.

In this way, vitamin C not only allows to destroy and get rid of the cells that cause cancer but also helps to delay the development of tumors, preventing metastasis.

How is the Endovenous Treatment with Vitamin C carried out?

This treatment consists of the application of about 20-45 grams of ascorbic acid, which would be the equivalent of ingesting around 240-500 oranges in each application. Therefore, here we are not talking about a simple question of “eating your fruits and vegetables”.

In addition, in relation to the possible adverse effects that may cause the treatment, it is known that they are completely discarded. It is worth mentioning that the recommended initial dose consists of 15 g daily.
